"Dropped in to Cascada for lunch last Saturday after our first destination was closed. What a find! Not your
typical Mexican Restaurant. Great ambiance and amazing food. I had the Pollo Invierno (delicious) and my
husband had the Tacos al Carbon which he really enjoyed. This is our new "go to" place in Old Town Placerville.
So many more dishes to explore....... glad the 1st place was closed. "

"One of My Favorites!
Cascada opened just as the economy began to falter and I worried that their timing was off. No WAY! This
restaurant is busy every night and it is one of our very favorites and one that I always recommend to my studio
visitors, coming in from other areas. You can't go wrong with their big menu. My five year old grandson calls me
and asks if we can go to "The Bean Dip Place", because of the delicious warm bean dip and salsas that come to
your table right away. He always finds a yummy meal from the child's menu.My favorite is still the Carne Asada,
which is two thin slices of beautifully seasoned rib steak that come with all of the fixings to fill a tortilla, if you so
desire. You will not be disappointed at Cascada. The fish dishes are fabulous, too. Enjoy!"

A must in Placerville
This is absolutely the best place for food for miles around. The service is always great and the food fantastic. I
like their Camarones Don Felipe appetizer and some times I order it as an entree plate. The three dips and chips
are fantastic.

"Best place in town
Cascada is a great place, from the staff, to the drinks and of course the food. I have been there several times and
have yet to be dissapointed, I love the atmosphere and the food is phenomanal. I live here in Placerville but my
family and many friends live out of town, every time someone comes to visit we take them there and they can't
stop talking about, and ask to go back each time they visit!! I also have gone with friends here in town and we
talk about trying somewhere new but we are hooked. I would reccomend this resturant to anyone!! "

"we liked it - from the pricer side like lamb chops to the less expensive side ,tacos. Cascada cares about what they
serve - the quality of food and presentation. OK some times the wait to be seated is a problem but that is a good
sign .... for if a place that opened during the worst economic down turn in recent history is packed with
customers that are willing to pay 15-20 per plate for the diner hey that tells me the food is good. I've been back at
least 4 times over the past year and I'm going back again tonight !"

"As a Southern Californian, schooled in Arizona and traveller of all the Southwest, I know Mexican food.  And, as
a bit of a food snob, I know what's good...
Pulling into Placerville on the long trek home from Burning Man, the only parking space available was right in
front of Cascada, which prompted me to read the menu.  Eureka!  Another "find"!
What a pleasure to have the familiar, earthy flavors of our neighbors to the south applied to dishes beyond the
usual taco/burrito/enchilada trilogy.  Pork tenderloin with berry sauce?  Mmmm...
Worth the 400 mile trip from L.A. considering how many Mexican eateries we have here."

"Great food, great ambience....I have been there 10+ times and love it. The service has always been friendly and
efficient. My 3 favorites are the pork in a raspberry chipotle sauce, the Chicken or pork in a creamy chipotle sauce
and for dessert the warm churros with a side of vanilla ice cream topped with a caramel sauce. Yummy! Very
reasonable prices also!"

"A really wonderful mexican/spanish influenced dining experience.  There is also a good sampling of California
cuisine as well.  Yes, good dining is hard to find in this area, and this place is a home run!!  On our visit there was
a specialty drink menu and a wine list, the drinks were fabulous, well crafted.  The atmosphere is a little more
urban upscale, but you still know you're in old Placerville.  The food?  Really, really good!  I had the churros for
dessert - totally yummy.  The place was full and I was glad about that as I don't want this restaurant to leave this
city anytime soon."

"Oh boy...  are you in for a treat!  This very attractive restaurant is located in one of the historic buildings on old
Main Street in Placerville.  But there is nothing old about the food.  I can only refer to it as "Mexicano Nuevo."
And it is perfect...

I was very happy with my entree choice.  I love grilled Rib Eye steaks and this one WAS PROBABLY THE FINEST
STEAK I HAVE EVER EATEN IN 55 YEARS!   I ordered mine rare (duh) and it was done exactly right.  The grill was
obviously very hot because the char marks were properly seared in (and  perfectly turned on the diagonal!) and
the inner part of the steak was as tender and juicy as any I have ever eaten... and I grill a pretty mean steak.  I
really could (and did) cut it with a fork.  And the julienned and grilled jalapenos, onions and mushrooms
mounded high on the rib eye were a perfect compliment to it.

The prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food...DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!!!"

"Nice bar, great food, attentive service - I like this place already!   This is one of the nice restaurants in downtown
Placerville, formerly Tomei's and Round Tent, I'm not sure who is running the place now, but these folks are
getting it right. The food is great, and that's saying something because the Placerville area is not wanting for
Mexican restaurants. It has a great bar that's integral to the eating area that's perfect for hanging out and
enjoying a light snack. I suppose the best compliment I can give the place is that - I'll be back..."

"Great food, prices and local wine. Worthy of the 20% tip as well."

"This is probably my favorite restaurant in town. The staff has always been extremely friendly and it has a really
nice atmosphere.
The food is amazing. The chips come with an assortment of salsas, which I love. They make these lobster
enchiladas that are to die for. Also, for some strange reason, they seem to make the best Shirley Temples."

"Delicious, upscale Mexican food but with many non-Mexican dishes (amazing rack of lamb with roasted baby
potatoes, for instance); the black beans are wonderful, the shrimp in chipotle cream sauce to die for, the fresh
vegetables that come with many (most?) of the non-Mexican dishes are superb, fresh, good variety and still

"AWESOME! not only my favorite restaurant in town, but may be my favorite mexican anywhere. Right in the
heart of historic main st., everything from its location to its decoration have a great vibe. i now eat there once a
week if i can and never have had a problem with the food or staff. oh and the food..... it makes me hungry just
thinking about it. i suggest the spicy shrimp taco's. they're not on the menu but they're happy to make them for
you. the chips and salsa are great. as for the margarita's, get the "Cascada Margarita". however be warned, it's
the only margarita you will want after that. and with negra modelo on tap you can't go wrong. all and all i always
get my moneys worth when i eat here."

 - Daryl W., Placerville, CA, yelp.com, 9/12/09

"As said by everyone this place is soooo good. Not like any Mexican restaraunt I have ever eaten at. They serve
three different salsas with the chips. My new favorite in pville."

"I love Cascada! There food is awesome and authentic. Everything is very fresh tasting me and my boyfriend love
going to eat here."

"In Placerville, You've GOT to eat at Cascada.  I have been a chef for many years. It is my life-it is my passion!
Cascada is a fantastic place to eat. My husband and I have eaten there many times and I have tried many dishes
and I have NEVER been disappointed. Their food is wonderful--the flavors are even good cold (if you take some
home for later, which you probably will). They say they are a Mexican Restaurant, but this is Mexican like you
have never had before. Wonderful, Wonderful!!!!!!!!! Ask for Jorge--the BEST waiter!!  ENJOY!!"
